Description
To make custom shade candles, candles recovered from modern maxi yachts are used. These tarps serve as a parasol. The fabric is a Dyneema® reinforced membrane, which is an incredibly resistant and ultra-light fiber used in sectors that demand extreme resistance. The dyneema membrane of these candles is armed with aramid and carbon fibers. This backlit material is spectacular, since it provides both a dense shade and a beautiful texture effect through which natural lighting or another type is dimmed, offering an appearance reminiscent of traditional natural heather ceilings.
This material can be applied a fire retardant treatment, thus obtaining the classification C-S2, D0, of the Euro code suitable for interiors.
Each space is different and to determine the shape, dimension and type of support of the shade candles can be somewhat complex, therefore, at Dvelas we have a team of architects and designers who work in unison to guarantee our clients technical support, based on images and dimensions provided by the client, through which we propose possible solutions in 3D format to visualize the optimal installation. The manufacture is carried out in our own workshop, ensuring a rigorous control of the process and the coordination between design and production.
Dvelas certifies that all of its products are made with recovered candles whose origin data (the ship of origin, its port of origin, the type of candle and the original manufacturer) is identified on a sewn label, as well as accompanied by an original certificate.
Indicative price: €95/m2. The final cost will depend on the final technical characteristics of
each shading project. Includes carabiners, pulleys, ropes, cancamos, cleats, etc. Does not include masts, shoes and structures.
Shade candles incorporate different types of fastening depending on the need and use.
The price of the roller mechanism for the roller parasol candle is €1,400
– Clamping by means of a single voltage system (€38): Support system to take the candle hold to any point by means of a pulley. It consists of a pulley attached to a bridge by a shackle, a rope with a carabiner.
– Clamping with a voltage system with a demultiplication (€85): The demultiplication allows us to multiply by three the force made when pulling the cape. This system is made up of a lashing pulley attached to a eyebolt by a shackle and a double pulley attached to the sail by means of a shackle.
– Mast attachment to the floor (€247): The mast can be attached to the ground by means of an anchor piece screwed to a concrete floor of at least 15 cm thick or a shoe of 60x60x60 cm of concrete.
– Union mast (€140): Sometimes by transport it is convenient to cut the mast, however, it can be joined by means of an interior joining piece.
– Four-rail mast (€140): DVelas has designed its own mast that incorporates four rails of variable height and that allow to quickly modify the clamping height of the candle as well as allowing to hold several candles at the same time.
– Mast attachment to wall (€212):Using steel plates we can fasten the mast to a wall and modify its orientation.
– Fixing tensioner system with fixed tensioner (€65): It is made up of a tensor subject to a eyebolt by means of
* DVELAS makes it possible to adapt the fabric to different existing structures. Each new project is an exciting challenge with which we grow and learn, providing the different spaces with a unique personality thanks to the flexible, lively and distinctive character that our candles mark. Do not hesitate to contact Ekohunters with the project specifications.
* They have several treatments:
– Flame retardant treatment CS2D0
-Ecosail air cleaning treatment. Reacts to sunlight by disposing of polluting gases and generating oxygen.
