Lock is a Bulgarian company founded in 2014, specializing in interlocking systems and puzzle structures (modular furniture). This unique locking system, invented by Konstantin Achkov, ensures the furniture's sturdiness and durability, while allowing for creative freedom and transforming furniture into works of art. The puzzle concept reflects modern play culture. Buyers can assemble the furniture pieces themselves, becoming co-creators. The primary material used in the manufacture of their innovative furniture is high-quality, calibrated beech plywood, which combines strength and lightness. Their modular designs and the choice of lightweight plywood reflect a policy of minimizing emissions from production and aim for environmentally friendly and efficient transportation. Eco-efficient production is achieved through CNC routing, resulting in zero waste. All of their furniture integrates art and functionality, conveying the classic sense of warmth and comfort provided by their natural materials: wood, stone or leather.
Eco-designer Konstantin Achkov is a sculptor who has worked for many years with complex structures such as tensegrityāthree-dimensional structures that remain stable through a combination of elements under tension and elements under compression. He is also known for his expertise in puzzles and interlocking systems. His Electron chair won the A'design Award in 2016.
