The Loop shelf is a very flexible and modular shelf system. Shelves can be used individually or combined to create a complete shelving solution. The specially designed bow-shaped brackets are mounted directly on the bamboo platform, creating a lightweight and exceptionally strong piece of furniture.
Designer Sebastian Jørgensen explains: “”… My intention with the Loop Shelf was to remodel the traditional shelf and give it more shape and function. The shelf is very thin and still 26 cm deep to give it more functionality and the bamboo turned parts add strength and are also used for platform mounting.”

Their products are made from moso bamboo, considered one of the most sustainable natural resources in the world. We do Wood only works with certified plantations, meaning their bamboo is grown without any chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. But their commitment to the environment goes much further. No harmful chemicals are used during their manufacturing processes, and all adhesives used exceed the strict European E1 standard for indoor air quality. In order to reduce emissions from the manufacturing process, the bamboo is shipped directly from the plantation to the furniture manufacturing facilities, avoiding unnecessary transport routes. Finally, the product is flat-packed, which helps minimize the use of packaging material and reduces shipping volume. Bamboo, the quintessential sustainable raw material, is the only woody plant whose regeneration rate is in balance with the rate of human consumption. This is possible thanks to the speed at which it reaches maturity (it takes approximately four years). It also reproduces very quickly naturally, continuously generating new shoots without the need for chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. But there are other reasons that make bamboo a great choice as a sustainable raw material. This plant plays a crucial role in the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. A bamboo grove naturally absorbs two-thirds more carbon dioxide and releases one-third more oxygen than its equivalent volume of trees. In addition, bamboo plantations improve soil quality by preventing erosion and prevent water pollution thanks to their high nitrogen uptake. In short, the company We do Wood has done everything possible to reduce the carbon footprint of its products, assuming this fact as a responsibility, taking into account aspects that affect the entire production process (raw materials) and consumption of its products (logistics and recyclability).
Eco-designer Jørgensen, the Danish designer, is the creative director and the firm behind the designs of We do Wood. Adapting the methodology gleaned from his experience in the art world, Jørgensen acquires a very special vision of the design process, from the initial concept to the finished object. His motto is undoubtedly simplicity. "Good furniture is that which is simply there and invites you to use it," he asserts, eschewing conceptualism. Jørgensen's work resides in the functionality, clean lines, and simplicity of his pieces, which are often the result of stripping the original idea of ornamentation.
