Description

The INDI design is special for its minimalist Baltic aesthetic, massive yet remarkably light volume, and unique material. The 20th century gave us a variety of pleated lampshades made of paper, plastic, and fabric. The Monumental “Plise” lamp is a contemporary take on the classic model. The illusory material and deceptive impression of weight are enhanced by the lamp’s large format.

INDI REPAPER’s unique technology creates the impression of concrete while maintaining a lightweight feel. This is a circular design product. You can return any REPAPER product to us for secondary recycling. Any other REPAPER product will cost you half price. By purchasing REPAPER products (made from recycled paper), you are participating in and contributing to a responsible and environmentally friendly circular design initiative.

Short Description

The monumental “Plise” pendant lamp is a contemporary take on the classic design. The lamp’s large size creates an illusion of material and a deceptive impression of weight. Indi’s unique “papercrete” technology gives the impression of concrete while maintaining a lightweight feel.

Indi

Much more than Eco

Indi is a Lithuanian design brand known for its original creations and unique recycled paper technology – REPAPER. This method creates a fascinating illusion – objects that appear to be made of heavy cement but are actually very lightweight. Indi's designs aim to create aesthetically pleasing interior elements that are environmentally friendly, causing no pollution and in some cases even reducing it. They are the first circular design brand in Lithuania. Indi lamps and other interior objects made from REPAPER can be recycled and reused as material for future products. This is how they create a continuous production cycle that guarantees responsible consumption and promotes contemporary design. Therefore, we are looking at one of Lithuania's leading design companies, having won the national "Good Design" award for the last three consecutive years.

Eco-designer Simonas Tarvydas was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. He graduated as a painter and visual artist from the Vilnius Art Academy. Simonas has extensive experience as a creative director—a field he worked in until 2014. In 2014, he decided to start his own design studio, INDI. Its unique feature is a one-of-a-kind "REpaper" technology (developed by Simonas Tarvydas) that creates a concrete-like impression while being extremely lightweight. Showcasing the latest innovations in contemporary design, INDI aims to be a part of the global circular economy. Responsible consumption, clean living, and sustainable design are the priorities of the INDI brand.
