The Peak footrest is designed to complement the Peak Lounge Chair, but it can also be used as a standalone sculptural stool. The footrest consists of 25 individual sub-elements made of birch plywood, each individually oiled and waxed to give the wood a smooth, silky finish. The product design was created using 3D technology. Once the basic form was established, the goal was to define the lines completely, ensuring seamless connections between the elements. After several prototypes and persistent work, the final design was defined. The different pieces of wood were milled, generating minimal waste of the original material. The edges were rounded by hand, and each element was then sanded both by machine and by hand.
