Decor with soul
Most Deco designs and manufactures unique and sustainable products for your home, sure to charm you and those around you. What makes them unique? They hail from Cuenca, a Spanish province with a deep-rooted artisan and forestry tradition. Did you know it's the second province with the largest forest area in Europe? Over the years, crafts such as cabinetmaking, pottery, basket weaving, and blacksmithing have become established in this region. Unfortunately, these crafts are now endangered, which is why they launched this project to preserve them. Together, they have designed and co-created each of the unique pieces they produce. By carefully managing the forests of the Serranía de Cuenca, responsibly and with respect for the environment, they provide raw materials for their artisans. All the wood they use is certified with FSC and PEFC labels. These systems guarantee that forest management is socially responsible, economically viable, and environmentally sustainable. It is a voluntary process through which compliance with sustainable management standards is certified via audits. Most Deco follows the Zero Waste philosophy in both its production and distribution processes. They optimize all their raw materials to the fullest extent to achieve maximum yield, and the minimal waste generated is stored and used as biomass. Regarding their packaging, it is made of recycled cardboard, striving to generate the least possible environmental impact. They also incorporate elements such as shredded paper and wood shavings, which some consider waste, but which serve as excellent protection in their shipments, and are also biodegradable! But they won't stop there. With your help, they can continue their sustainable journey and implement many more actions such as: Using recycled wood in some of their products; expanding their network of artisans to generate employment in an area threatened by depopulation, such as Cuenca; and participating and collaborating in reforestation and forest conservation.
Ecodiseñadores Most Deco was born from the dreams and aspirations of Julian, the brand's designer and founder, who is passionate about his city and traditional craftsmanship. However, it wouldn't have been possible without the contributions of each of the local artisans with whom he co-produces his pieces. Ángel, a carpenter and cabinetmaker, grew up in his father's workshop, developing his knowledge of the trade from a very young age. He has dedicated his entire life to working with wood from Cuenca, creating incredible furniture. Antonio, a potter and ceramicist, learned the craft from his uncle as a teenager. His restlessness and desire to explore have led him to unleash his creativity with his drawings, colors, and forms. Fernando, a potter, ceramicist, and painter, is passionate about the arts and was raised in a family of artisans. He is delighted to discover and apply new techniques and glazes to his pieces. He also applies his knowledge of drawing and watercolor to his work with clay. Marivi, an engineer, designer, and artisan, is the founder of Vica Designs. She combines her work and technical expertise to design and produce unique handcrafted pieces using digital fabrication techniques. Erick, her art director, is a photographer and videographer. A graduate of the University of Castilla-La Mancha with a degree in Fine Arts, he specialized in communication and audiovisual creation. His father works as a carpenter, and he has been surrounded by wood since childhood.
