Sustainability and natural fibers
Teixidors is a Catalan cooperative founded in 1983 in Terrassa (Barcelona) that designs, produces, and markets handwoven home accessories, using only 100% natural materials of the highest quality and traceability, such as organic merino wool and yak. Unique pieces are created on traditional wooden looms. The handlooms allow for the creation of delightfully imperfect borders on the pieces. Each piece becomes a work of art full of nuances, reflecting the individuality of each weaver. From its inception, Teixidors has been a cooperative with a clear social mission, whose ultimate goal is the social integration and economic independence of people with learning difficulties. This always-priority objective is realized in creative works on handlooms, where the act of weaving is therapeutic. The integration of people at risk of social exclusion and a commitment to responsible consumption are integral to Teixidors' sustainability.
