Cira World unites design, sustainability, and craftsmanship to give a second life to decommissioned fire extinguishers, transforming complex waste into exclusive, sustainable lighting pieces. The project originated within Prodein—a company with over 40 years of experience in the fire protection sector—where each extinguisher held a real-world history before reaching the end of its service life. Instead of sending them to recycling or hazardous waste disposal, Cira World recovers and transforms them into objects of conscious design, demonstrating that industrial items can also become functional beauty. Each piece begins with the body of an extinguisher that once protected a space—such as schools, shops, sports centers, or homes—and which, after being decommissioned, is cleaned, prepared, and hand-crafted in collaboration with local artisans. Cira World combines reclaimed steel, sustainable wood, and eco-friendly paint to create unique, durable lamps with a low environmental footprint. Furthermore, all pieces include a Digital Product Passport (DPP) that transparently documents their origin, materials, and transformation process. Production is local, the design is circular, and every lamp is one-of-a-kind, as no two fire extinguishers are alike.
