Their patent-pending casting technology requires neither large amounts of water and energy, nor high-temperature kilns to produce the final product. This results in a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to traditional bathroom materials. CO2 emissions per unit are approximately 80% lower when using a similarly sized ceramic sink. All sinks and bathtubs are designed and manufactured in Finland at Woodio's own factory using a near-carbon-neutral production process. The Finnish Labour Association has awarded all Woodio products the Key Flag symbol in recognition of their Finnish-made status. The company has also been awarded the Design of Finland label, which is given to companies that have demonstrably invested in Finnish design.
