The Muros chair is an object that was born from a rehabilitation project carried out by domohomo architects, in the villa that gives its name to this piece of furniture and where most of the elements are made with chestnut wood, structure, planking, carpentry, coverings, etc.
From this close connection with this material, so significant in Galicia, arises the desire to continue working with it and exploring all its limits. Thus, the Muros chair becomes a place of experimentation, where the hands of a local carpenter bring the imagined to life. It is a handcrafted piece, assembling nine wooden components to create the Muros chair.
Undoubtedly, the armrest has been the most difficult piece to manufacture. It begins with a conventional section of solid chestnut wood, which is then laminated into sheets approximately 2mm thick. Next, a mold is created with the desired curvature, and finally, all the laminates are glued together around this established profile.
Thus, the Muros chair becomes an armchair, designed to contemplate the wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean.
