Description

Citysens Vertical Garden with Automatic Irrigation. An oasis at home, a touch of nature in your studio, an urban garden. Much more than just a plant stand, the modular design of the Citysens vertical garden adapts to bring greenery to any space. You can choose the color of the structure, the height and position of the pots, the irrigation system, as well as the wood color and the plant families you want to display. Design and technology at the service of society with the goal of achieving more for less: more greenery in less space, more comfort with fewer resources. Social and environmental impact

The Citysens garden is inspired by the principles of efficiency and energy saving. Its automatic recirculating irrigation system mimics the water cycle in nature, saving up to 50% on water and nutrients. Its electricity consumption is only €0.20 per year. Furthermore, the structure’s materials are high-quality and 100% recyclable, carefully selected to ensure the garden has a very long lifespan. But there’s something we’re even more proud of. It’s made in Spain under social responsibility criteria. We collaborate with the Santa Teresa Foundation of El Vendrell (Tarragona) to provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities. By purchasing this garden, you contribute to their social inclusion. Choosing this product helps us promote their social inclusion.

The Citysens garden includes an automatic recirculating irrigation system with a 60-day watering autonomy in winter and 30 days in summer. The Citysens self-watering system can be programmed via Wi-Fi and controlled from your smartphone, digital timer, or analog timer; this allows you to manage the watering needs of each plant group. And if you prefer to water your plants manually, we also have a manually watered garden available.

For all these reasons, the Citysens garden has been recognized with international awards such as the Delta 2016, the IF Awards 2017, the European Design Awards 2017, the Good Design Awards 2017 and the German Design Award 2018.

Citysens

A vertical garden with social impact

After creating several prototypes, they developed an initial design for the Citysens garden that was warmly received by the first 70 visionaries who decided to purchase one. Their feedback and ideas were incorporated into the product design created by Pär Blanking and Lúcid Design Agency. In November 2015, the Citysens garden launched via a crowdfunding campaign that garnered support from 265 backers and surpassed its funding goal in just 48 hours. Today, Citysens is a reality thanks to the support of everyone who has chosen to enjoy a Citysens garden at home or at work. The entrepreneurial team currently consists of Francisco Andrade, Pär Blanking, Xavi Rius, and F. Xavier Rius. Their mission is to bring nature closer to city dwellers by using design and technology to create inspiring products tailored to modern lifestyle needs. The entire Citysens team shares values of social, environmental, and economic responsibility. Driven by this, they work passionately to ensure their venture has a positive impact on both the environment and people. Citysens is convinced that a great product must always go hand-in-hand with promoting social and environmental sustainability. A testament to their social commitment is the manufacturing of Citysens gardens in collaboration with the Santa Teresa Foundation (El Vendrell, Tarragona), where a team of six individuals with diverse abilities handles assembly. These individuals also receive comprehensive support for their social development. With only 25% of people with diverse abilities currently employed in Spain, supporting this cause is fundamental to the company. Their environmental commitment is equally noteworthy; products are manufactured according to environmental sustainability criteria, taking the entire product lifecycle into account. The materials used are chosen for their durability—ensuring they remain in perfect condition for years—and are 100% recyclable. Ultimately, when you purchase a Citysens garden, you are helping good things grow.
