Description

Globe is a sustainable hanging lamp made of papier-mâché designed for decorating the dining room or kitchen and creatively illuminating home spaces thanks to its unique style.

Materials

Among the materials used to make these sustainable pendant lamps, the main one is papier-mâché, which is made from recycled, pulped newspapers and water-based glue, hence its lightness. The paper is torn into small pieces which, under high heat, fuse together into a new, sustainable, and completely different entity. This allows the paper to be molded in many different ways to create the desired shape of the pendant lamp.

A one-meter white textile cable is used for connection to the power source. Globe pendant lights use only LED bulbs up to 20W with an E27 base (not included). The shade for this sustainable lamp is available in amber, black, red ochre, gold ochre, sienna yellow, amber green, or natural gray. Custom cable colors and lengths are also available upon request.

Utility and use

These pendant ceiling lights are sculptural pieces that you can place in your kitchen or dining room, illuminating the table from the ceiling with a striking style. Globe pendant ceiling lights contribute to your home’s sustainable decor in a special way: at night, their core comes alive, simulating a bright, luminous planet.

Environmental characteristics

Crea-re is a company committed to environmental and social responsibility. All its products are made with sustainable materials and environmentally friendly processes. This includes its LED light bulb, which is one of the most eco-friendly options available today for home lighting. Furthermore, it’s important to note that the lightweight nature of its lamps reduces shipping costs, as lower weight means less CO2 emissions during transport.

Design features

The Globe sustainable pendant lamps are part of the Copernicus collection, which references the planets of the solar system, in this case, Earth. Their porous and irregular style symbolizes dry, cracked soil, a poetic choice inspired by the paintings of Polish artist Grupa Nowohucka. Depending on the shade color chosen, you can create more sophisticated and understated atmospheres with black amber, natural gray, or amber green; or warmer and more cheerful spaces with ochre red, golden ochre, or sienna yellow. This sustainable pendant lamp is also perfect for balancing environments with a predominantly cool decor or for rooms with neutral tones.

Short Description

Globe is a sustainable pendant lamp designed to illuminate home spaces such as the dining room or kitchen, for example, above a table. Its unique and exceptional style ensures a creative decorative touch. These ceiling lamps are part of the Copernicus collection, which references the planets of the solar system, in this case, Earth.  This pendant lamp is made from pulped newspapers, sustainable water-based glue, and a one-meter textile cable. Its porous and irregular structure symbolizes dry, cracked soil, a poetic choice inspired by the paintings of Polish artist Grupa Nowohucka. All the materials used in Globe, as with all Crea-re products, are eco-friendly, as is the lamp’s manufacturing process. It uses only LED bulbs up to 20W with an E27 base (not included). The lampshade is available in amber black, red ochre, gold ochre, sienna yellow, amber green, or natural gray. Custom colors and cable lengths are also available upon request. This lamp was showcased at the London Design Fair in 2014. Many publications featured this collection, most notably USTA Magazine, Archiproducts, Vogue, and especially Elle Decoration.

Crea-re

Eco-designed paper lamps

The Essence of Crea-re: Every Crea-re papier-mâché lamp is unique. It is impossible to create two identical ones; each holds its own story—reflecting both the past lives of the recycled materials used and the artistic inspiration behind their creation. The Crea-re Story: The brand was born from eco-designer María Fiter’s passion for sculpture, a trait evident in the organic shapes of every lamp. Each new design project begins with a vision for a series of rustic yet elegant lamps that pay homage to nature. The brand name combines "Crea" (creativity) and "Re" (recycling). Production Processes: All Crea-re lamps are exclusive, sustainable pieces handcrafted from papier-mâché and wood. They are made using 100% recycled newspaper, while the wood is finished with water-based varnishes and beeswax. Inspirations: For the "Copernicus" lamp series, the designs draw inspiration from Solar System bodies such as the Moon, Jupiter, Pluto, and Earth. Art also serves as a source of inspiration for Crea-re; the lamp structures—characterized by a gray, porous, irregular, dry, and cracked appearance—were inspired by the paintings of the Polish artist collective "División Nowohucka."

Eco-designer Crea-re is led by Maria Fiter, who holds a degree in Art History from Kraków (Poland) and founded her studio in Barcelona in 2013. Maria’s work straddles the line between art and design.
