Hookd is a lamp with a long history. In short, the industry disposes of millions of specific media each year. These hooks were used in a powder coating plant, such as our partner Bruynzeel Storage Systems. Unfortunately, they can only be used once. The hooks, originally made of copper and brass, acquire a typical color gradient due to the color currently used in the coating and the powder-coated automatic robot. Therefore, the HookD is available in white and black.
Tolhuijs Design collects these hooks and makes them mount lamps with them in a protected workshop. With our own development stacking system, the lamps are transported to our warehouse, where another social workshop packs them and ships them to the customer. Dutch design with a long history

Tolhuijs is a Dutch design brand based in Amsterdam, founded on the core values of sustainability, social impact, and exquisite design. In addition to advising companies on sustainable design, Tolhuijs offers its own line of recycled furniture and sustainable interior design products. They source their raw materials from factories that would otherwise simply discard them and recycle them in collaboration with prisons and social workshops, producing high-quality designs for the home.
Eco-designer Bastiaan Tolhuijs is a Dutch designer specializing in recycling. As a child, he loved to play with the classroom wastebasket, searching for long-lost treasures. Many years have passed since then, but his fascination with giving new life to waste materials remains undiminished, and he strives to demonstrate that these materials can be transformed into high-quality design products.
