Short Description

OKURARI is a storage system inspired by Japanese screwless woodworking techniques, using interlocking wooden pieces. Designed to be made from pine, we have adapted it to other woods to achieve a lighter weight for transport. We always use FSC-certified wood and finishes with natural oils and waxes. The shelving unit consists of a structure of machined wooden slats. It is completely demountable. Delivered disassembled with instructions for assembly without screws.  The finish color can be customized for €40. An additional 40 cm module can be added to increase the height. The product is shipped flat-packed and requires assembly. Assembly instructions are included. It received Second Prize in the 2022 Cuenca Forestry Design Competition.

Vica design

We are nourished and inspired by nature

Vica Design is a brand that blends design with nature in everything it does. Lovers of detail, textures, craftsmanship, uniqueness, natural materials, and functional, elegant design. Committed to the environment, Vica Design has a deep love for nature. Since the project began with a walk in the woods, they have maintained a clear commitment to the environment, which translates into: a Vica Forest with nearly 100 trees planted on a 2,300 m² plot in Sagides (Soria), the result of their collaboration with the Green Areas Association; and a Green Certificate as a company that sponsors tree planting in deforested areas. They use natural materials, FSC-certified wood, organic oils and waxes, and source from local suppliers whenever possible. They design and produce their own packaging, ensuring it is 100% biodegradable. In their manufacturing and production processes, they strive to reduce manufacturing processes and techniques to minimize CO2 emissions.

Eco-designer. The desire to create something new, to grow, the passion for doing things she enjoys, the positivity and initiative to launch and make it work, the capacity for learning, research, and overcoming mistakes—all these things drive Vica, allowing Victoria to continue working for this small but significant brand. Her beginnings as a building engineer, her knowledge of materials, and her passion for design inspired her to make design her new profession.
