Description

The Qvist chair consists of a network of curved lines that come together to form a cohesive whole, expressing enchanting poetry and elegance. The Qvist Side Chair comprises 17 sub-elements made of individually oiled and waxed laminated birch veneer, giving the wood a smooth, silky finish. The product design was created using 3D technology.

Once the basic shape is found, the goal is to define the lines completely, maintaining satisfactory connections between the elements. After several prototypes and persistent work, the final design is defined. The different pieces of wood are processed using a milling machine, generating minimal waste of the original material. The edges are rounded by hand, and each element is then sanded both by machine and by hand.
